Dr Agata M. Wolińska-Umschaden
Dr Agata M. Wolińska-Umschaden is the founder of the law firm. She is a member of Pomerania Bar Association in Gdansk and of Vienna Bar Association in Austria.
She specializes in pharmaceutical law, medical devices law, food law, cosmetics law, medical law, international commercial law, international commercial and investments arbitration, and real estate law.
Dr Wolińska-Umschaden has extensive experience in representing international and domestic clients. Her clientele includes both companies and private individuals in cases of pharmaceutical disputes, complex contracting proceedings, and merger transactions.
Before setting up her own law firm, Dr Wolińska-Umschaden worked in some of the biggest European law firms in Vienna (Baker&McKenzie and Konrad&Partners), where she specialized in litigation, arbitration, and medical and pharmaceutical law. Dr Wolińska-Umschaden graduated in law from the University of Gdansk in Poland and the University of Vienna in Austria. She finished her PhD studies at the University of Vienna in medical law. During her studies she specialized in international and European law from the University of Cologne, Germany, and at the University of Alicante, Spain.
She speaks fluent English, German, Polish, and Spanish. She regularly publishes and translates other legal works. Since 2016, she has been working as a sworn translator ad hoc in Vienna and as an arbitrator by the permanent Arbitration Court of Pomerania Bar Association.
In her spare time Dr Wolińska-Umschaden plays Tennis, goes skiing, and loves dancing. She enjoys cooking and World War II literature. She ascended the highest Austrian and Polish summits and is a world champion in Odyssey of the Mind (unconventional problem-solving and acting) (Maryland, USA 2001).
Mr Krzysztof Woliński is in permanent cooperation with the law office. He is a member of the Pomerania Bar Association in Gdansk. Since 2010, he is a regular member of the District Bar Council in Gdansk.
Mr Woliński graduated in law from the University of Gdansk. He completed a judge apprenticeship, but after passing the exam he decided to work in housing association, and accordingly, has specialized in real estate and property law. Afterwards, he completed an attorney apprenticeship at the renowned Gdansk’s Lawyers, where he specialized in tax law, family law, and criminal and criminal-fiscal law. After passing the bar exams, he joined the Attorney Office N 13 in Gdansk-Wrzeszcz and practised there till 1992.
From 1992 to 1994 Mr Woliński was a co-founder of a law office in Gdansk. He worked as the owner of a law office in Gdansk-Wrzeszcz from 1994 to 2007. From 2007-2010 he acted as the initiator and the co-founder of a legal firm Woliński Główczyński Surewicz, in Gdansk-Wrzeszcz. Since 2010, he is the owner of a legal firm in Gdansk-Oliwa, which specializes in criminal law and criminal-commercial law.
Mr Woliński specializes in criminal law, criminal-fiscal law, and criminal-commercial law. He represents clients in all kinds of proceedings at all stages before all kinds of courts and offices such as the Revenue Office, the Board of Customs, the Border Guards, the Police Department, the Attorney General’s Office etc. He has broad experience and is tremendously respected in this field of practice.
He is an author of the Commentary of the Accounting Regulation. He is a regular speaker and lecturer in criminal law and criminal proceedings. He speaks German and Russian.
Mr Woliński is passionate about the poetry of K. I. Gałczynski and A. E. Poe. He relishes the prose of J. L. Borges. He is a connoisseur of the music of W. Kilar and N. Rot. He loves hiking and skiing. As a member of the Department of Culture Sport and Tourism by the District Bar Association in Gdansk, he organizes sporting and tourist events.
Alfons Umschaden, MBA, MBL
Mr Alfons Umschaden is an independent substitute in permanent cooperation with the law office. He is a member of the Vienna Bar Association since 2010. He is also a regular member of the Disciplinary Court at the Vienna Bar Association and a board member of the largest Austrian legal club, Justitia, since 2012.
Mr Umschaden specializes in construction law, investment law, real estate and remedy law. He is a specialist in the field of drafting all kinds of contracts, especially franchise-agreements. He represents one of the world’s largest fast food companies based in Austria.
He has gained experience in the largest law offices in Vienna and Salzburg (Raits Ebner Rechtsanwälte GmbH, Baker&McKenzie, CHSH). Since 2010, Mr Umschaden runs his own law office in Vienna. Since 2015, he is in permanent cooperation with the law office of Dr Agata M.Wolińska-Umschaden.
He has graduated in law from the University of Graz (2002), and finished postgraduate studies in Business and Administration (MBA, 2005) and in Business Law (M.B.L., 2012).
He speaks fluent English and German. He also communicates in Polish and is improving his speaking skills every day.
Mr Umschaden runs marathons all over Europe. In winter he loves skiing on the Alpine slopes. He is a hunter and a member of The Regional Hunters´ Association of Vienna, Lower Austria and Tirol.
